{Meghan + Jeff 10.19.12}

I was finally able to make some room on my computer and edit the photos from Meghan + Jeff’s gorgeous wedding! Yay!

Meghan and Jeff got married at a gorgeous venue out in Canby, Oregon – Postlewaits Country Weddings. It was truly stunning inside an out – the grounds were perfectly manicured and the barn was heartstoppingly (made up that word?) beautiful. Since I was in the wedding I didn’t get to take as many photos as I would’ve liked – but snapped as many as I could! I wish I could’ve gotten more of the details. They left no DIY undone – from the photobooth to the wishing stones, to the readings to the cocktails, to the grooms cake… I mean, the list goes on and on. It was such an honor to be a part of their day – they are such a genuine and beautiful couple. The laughter they share together is contagious. And best of all, they made the cutest little baby girl you ever did see. Enjoy the photos!

{Meghan + Jeff via iPhone}

I wanted to share some iPhone snaps from the wedding I was in last week. I’ll post more about the wedding when I share the “real” photos, but what I’ll say now is this wedding was a true testament to Meghan and how unbelievably creative and detail-oritented she is. This would’ve been an impressive fete to plan no matter what, but knowing she has a full-time job and a small baby at home made this even more extraordinary. I was so honored to be a part of Meghan + Jeff’s big day and couldn’t be happier for them! Can’t wait to share more!!

{Weekend Snaps!}

After last weekend’s debacle I was really looking forward to a chilled out weekend at home in Amsterdam.
And that’s exactly what I got – complete with the most gorgeous, crisp fall days and bright blue skies. I was a happy girl.
This weekend included lots of long walks with the huz and pup.
Exploring different neighborhoods and discovering new places.
Lots of fresh mint tea.
A trip to the Pure Market for fun trinkets and delicious treats with these two.
All in all it was just the weekend I needed!

Lately… + Welcome!

Lately…
We’ve been daydreaming about a trip to Greece we’re planning for the spring.
I’ve been enjoying the cold + dry weather we’ve been having in Amsterdam.
I’ve been making the conscious effort to live in the moment. It’s so easy to always dream about and want what’s next and forget to soak up the now.
We’ve been feeling really settled in Amsterdam. It is really starting to feel like home. And we love it.
I’ve found myself absolutely giddy when I ride my bike everywhere. We live in such a beautiful city; I am reminded of that daily.
I’ve picked up reading again. The train really helps with that. Most recently I read The Happiness Project and Bossypants. I loved them both! I would love any book recommendations you have!
I have been craving a movie (theater) night.
I’ve been going to bed way too late. I used to always get 8 hours of sleep in Portland, but these days I’m lucky to get 7. I get home from work much later and feel myself rebelling and wanting to stay up to get some me time in. This makes for a grumpy Liz in the morning!

I am feeling the urge to bake. What are your favorite Fall baking recipes?

Also, welcome to anyone stopping over from The Story of My Life! So glad to have you here 🙂 If you want to know a little bit more about me and my husband you can check out my About Me page and our archives to the right!

Have a great weekend everyone!

{Last} Weekend Snaps

I’m a bit behind on posting photos because I lost my camera charger (think I left it in London, actually) and getting a new one here was not an easy task! I finally got to upload these photos from last weekend. We had just gotten back from the U.S., still a little jet lagged, but completely ecstatic that it was so sunny and beautiful in Amsterdam. It was certainly chilly, but that didn’t stop us from soaking up the blue sky with a nice long walk with Henry, followed by brunch outside. It was one of my favorite weekends in Amsterdam so far.

And p.s., for those of you that have asked for photos of my bike: here you go! It’s nothing super special, but that’s because if you buy a nice, expensive bike it will just get stolen. The bike I have is a traditional Dutch bike (bought it second-hand), very common around these parts!

{Eagle Crest, Oregon}

I missed a couple posts last week so I thought I’d make up for it with a Sunday post! As I mentioned earlier, we spent our weekend back home in Eagle Crest, Oregon, which is in the Eastern part of the state. We stayed in a gorgeous rental house with our entire family. It was so much fun and the perfect opportunity to chill out and enjoy each other’s company. We spent time lounging on the back deck, hiking, and just breathing in the fresh mountain air. I highly recommend Eagle Crest for a relaxing getaway if you’re in the Pacific Northwest! Here are some photos from our stay.

{Forrest Family}

This past weekend was a beautiful one in Amsterdam. I got to take advantage of the stunning weather and photography the Forrest family right in the heart of Amsterdam. The light was perfect and their little boy is the cutest. To say I had a great time would be an understatement! Here are a few of my favorite snaps!

Guest Post: Paper Morning // A Short Guide to Pumpkin Hunting

1. Find the perfect pumpkin patch. If they have pumpkins and serve free spiced apple cider, you’re in the right place.
2. Bring a studly man and a wheelbarrow. Sometimes the perfect pumpkin is hefty. The studly man can help you with that. Sometimes there is more than one perfect pumpkin. The wheelbarrow will help your studly man with that.
3. Be prepared for mud. This is inevitable. You’re going to have to work to find that perfect pumpkin so don’t be afraid to get mud on those wellies or your coat or even your favorite scarf.
4. Inspect your perfect pumpkin(s). There are plenty of critters out there that feast on pumpkins. Make sure you don’t take any home with you.
5. Rejoice. When you find the perfect pumpkin, let everyone know. Sing a song if you have to. Pose for a photo. This is a rather serious accomplishment!

Guest Post: Kelley Maria

Hi everyone!  I am Kelley from Kelley Maria and I am delighted to be here today!  As a fellow Portland-er, I thought it would be fun to share some fall snap shots of Portland since Liz is now living in Amsterdam.  Fall is my favorite time of the year for so many reasons.  Here’s why…

The changing of seasonal colors to vibrant jewel tones, cozy cashmere, autumn leaves falling, warm
beverages and natural fall decor – simple reminders of why fall is my favorite season.
Thank you, Liz for having me over today and enjoy your time in Portland!
