International Rose Test Garden

One of my absolute favorite parts of living in downtown Portland is the ability we have to walk to so many amazing places. Twenty minutes in any direction and you stumble upon something beautiful. Last Friday, we decided to take advantage of the gloriously warm weather and walk up to the Rose Test Garden in Washington Park (and cross another thing off the to-do list!). The roses were in full bloom and everything was so gorgeous. Photos don’t even come close to doing this place justice, but I snapped some anyways. Hope you enjoy!

  1. so many of the things you post remind me of places in california, but i guess that kinda makes sense since they are both west coast. my husband proposed to me at this amazing gardens where they grow the roses for the rose parade in pasadena. i have to say, i've always wanted to visit portland but seeing things you post about makes me really really want to visit portland! it looks so gorgeous.

  2. gorgeous!
These photos remind me of Descanso Gardens in Northern Los Angeles. We actually went to a wedding there Memorial Day weekend and it was just beautiful. I keep telling Aaron that we need to visit Portland… and he keeps telling me that when we do, I will surely fall in love with it and want to move there 🙂

  3. What a lovely place to spend a day! I remember hearing about the rose gardens when I traveled to Portland a few years back but, sadly, never made it there. Now looking at your photos, I'm kicking myself for not making a stop! Thanks for sharing your visit – I'll be sure to make these gardens a priority next time I'm in town!
