Weekend Recap

Martinis with the girls followed by pool and beers with some good friends who were in town from Seattle.

Major laziness. Sex & The City marathon. Hey, I deserved it!
Made kale chips for the first time at the suggestion of my sissy and this little lady. Yum. Try it!
Whipped up stuffed portabello mushrooms (recipe here, just added a cup of quinoa), grilled chicken and garlic bread.
Watched The Fighter. Acting was insanely phenomenal. Great movie, but I had to hide my eyes a few times.Β

Strawberry shortcake for breakfast (including homemade whipped cream!). Uh huh. That’s how we roll!
Spring cleaning.
Tried the PB&J cart down the street. Probably shouldn’t have done that because we discovered how ridiculously yummy they are. Corey had the “Good Morning” and I had the “Pumpkin Pie”. Grilled PB&J concoctions. Who woulda thought?
Going away dinner for a coworker who’s moving to Amsterdam to work at our European headquarters. Will miss her. Tried to hide my jealousy πŸ™‚
Hope you had a great weekend!

  1. Your pictures always come out so good. I'm in a camera shopping season since my point and shoot took a crash to the cement. What kind of camera do you shoot with? Thanks, Ciao.

  2. I think Henry wants some of that yummy food! I love that you had strawberry shortcake for breakfast and I keep wanting to try the PB&J cart but it never happens…I hear nothing but good things about it!

  3. Several things:
My roommates and I ALSO made kale chips and watched the fighter this weekend. My one roomie is literally addicted to kale chips and makes them daily. I used to make fun of her because I thought it was so random but then I took a bite of one. They taste like legitimate potatoe chips. I don't get it. And fighter was so good!

Two, your pictures from the weekend are great, especially the food ones. I want that strawberry shortcake.

    And three, cute necklace!

  4. Quinoa is the best! Is that Kale you cooked it with? a perfect winter dinner.

And I know what you mean about The Fighter – the actual fight scenes made my tummy hurt.

  5. so glad you liked the kale chips!! everything looks so delicious liz. and henry adorable, and i am adoring your outfit. more outfit posts pretty please. (:

  6. I'm loving all the food pics….those mushrooms look amazing! I made sarah's kale chips last week too!

Also love the puppy pics ( food and pups are theee best things to photograph, in my opinion)

  7. Liz- I also am a fan of shortcake for breakfast! I had it last summer at this adorable Chicago restaurant, Jam, where they include tiny slivers of basil mixed in with the berries for an unexpected and almost-savory twist. It would be heaven in the breakfast version served along with eggs… Liz E.

  8. I've tried kale chips and they just weren't working for me! Maybe I should try again. I love your outfit posts, Liz! Hope there will be more in the future. πŸ™‚
