Why Hello!

Hi Guys! I have been a bad blogger. As you can imagine, life is quite busy these days. We’re 24 days out from the wedding and things at work are super busy too, which equals no time for blogging! I will try my best to keep up with posting regularly between now and the wedding and honeymoon!

Speaking of honeymoon… As some of you may know, Corey and I were planning a trip to French Polynesia. We chose the location because it’s our ultimate dream destination. Unfortunately, the logistics to make this trip work were stressing us out to no end, and a honeymoon should be anything but stressful, right? So, this weekend we made the decision to cancel our flights and instead booked an eight-day honeymoon in Kauai. We could not be more excited! It’ll be exactly what we need. A lush, beautiful location, easy flight, English-speaking, no currency exchange…. Basically, pure and simple relaxation and bliss. Now that is what a honeymoon is all about. And thanks to Caitlin of the awesome blog Sacrament Street, we found a gorgeous, secluded rental home to stay at. Everything came together so seamlessly, we just know it was meant to be. If any of you have been to Kauai and have suggestions on things we must do or places we must eat, please do send them along!!

Hope you all are having a great week, and hoping to get back to blogging regularly very soon!

  1. i think you made the right choice. my friends went to figi and austrailia on their honeymoon and regretted it.. those places i'm sure were amazing but they weren't really able to relax! i've only been to kona and maui but hear that kuai is amazing! congratz!

  2. I went in Feb…you'll love it. 1. Red Hot Mama's for burritos is a don't miss. It's on the road to the North Shore. Local, walk-up only. 2. The taco truck parked in Hanalei (sp) Bay is AMAZING! 3. Visit as many farmer's markets as you can 🙂
    Enjoy!

  3. I just got back from a week trip to Maui with the boyfriend. We bought the guidebook “Maui Revealed”, and it was the BEST PURCHASE we made before and during the trip. The author has a book called “The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook”. You should check it out 🙂

  4. We went to Kauai for our honeymoon and adored every minute of it!! Our favorites: Kioki Gold beer (not available anywhere, that we know of, but the islands); discovering new, little secret beaches everyday (we mostly searched through the book The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook, it IS the best guide book); private surf lessons (we found a company in the guidebook, it's not too expensive and so hysterical); shopping the farmer's markets that are held daily all over the island and then trying to cook in our rented house; and of course, the helicopter tour (it's pricey and cliche, but oh my word, the place is so gorgeous from every angle). I hope that inspires you a bit. I can't wait to hear how you like it!

  5. thank you so much for the recommendations you guys! We ran out and bought The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook last night and I've been reading it and daydreaming about the honeymoon ever since! Yay! Can't wait to share photos and stories with you all 🙂

  6. I have one piece of advice that someone gave me before I went on my honeymoon to Kauaii and it was to book couples massages on the beach beforehand. Once you're there, you may not end up doing it, but it's a GREAT way to kick off your honeymoon!!
