Vacation Hair.

Let’s take a moment to talk about vacation hair. Perhaps you know exactly what I’m talking about. Have you seen that episode of Friends when Monica’s hair turns into a giant fro due to the tropical climate she’s vacationing in? That fro right there is THE reason Corey and I could never have a destination wedding. You can’t get married with a fro!!

Though the weather here isn’t quite humid enough to be full-on fro-inducing, taming my beast of locks proves extemely difficult with the different plugs, voltage and wattage of my trusty American appliances. My hand has cramped into a claw after way too long holding a blowdryer and/or straightener. But you know what they say, no pain, no gain. I can endure the claw so long as my hair stays nice and flat through all our adventures 🙂 Does vacation hair drive anyone else nuts or is it just me?

Hope you all survived your Monday! Adios for now.

Oh and P.S.! If you’re at all interested, I have been updating my Twitter on a much more regular basis than this little blog. So if you’re wondering what we’re up to day to day, check it out! Twitter.com/LizBalaesh. Or use the link to the left 🙂

  1. We were just in Mexico for a wedding.
I hardly ever use a blow dryer, and I do not even use a brush. That said, I do use Moroccan hair oil to settle down and smooth my shagged hair, or any oil handy.

We set out the door with a wet head (sans oil), it dried while we walked down the exterior corridor. While waiting for the elevator my MIL asked, “Why is your hair so curly”?!

Found out on the ride down, that she thought I did something special to make it look so
…”Big and good”. A tinge of jealousy. ;P

  2. Oh great! I have naturally curly hair, so I will definitely be sporting the fro when we visit there in a few weeks! My hair is either really really curly and nice (when it's hot beachy weather with no humiditiy) or a giant puff-ball. I will have to remember to bring lots of anti-frizz creams haha! Thanks for the heads up 🙂

  3. I totally understand—I have the same hair ordeals, isn't it a pity? I can't believe you're in Argentina and Uruguay! My fiance and I want to go there for our honeymoon, but for now I'll live vicariously through you!
